S Swift Translation welcomes your interest in the website http://s‑ and attaches importance to protecting your privacy and your personal data in compliance with the provisions of the German Telemedia Act (TMG) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). This privacy policy sets out to give you an overview of the nature, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data on the website.

Collection and use of personal data

The content of this website can generally be accessed without you having to disclose your identity or provide personal data (any information that could be used to identify you). Where the website allows users to optionally enter personal or business data, such data is disclosed on an expressly voluntary basis. In general, users can clearly discern what kind of data is transmitted and stored when they use the website (or another form of communication) to convey information such as names, e‑mail addresses or telephone numbers and the content of any messages sent through the contact form or e‑mail.

If you choose to submit personal data during a visit to the web pages of S Swift Translation, you may rest assured that S Swift Translation will only use such information in order to respond to your queries, fulfil contractual obligations, or maintain our customer relationship with you. Information about you is maintained in our business records while you are a customer, or until it is no longer needed for business, tax or legal purposes.

Disclosure of personal data to third parties

S Swift Translation will not sell your personal information to anyone.

Recipients or categories of recipients to which data may be communicated under certain circumstances:
· External contractors (service providers) under the conditions set out in Section 11 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG)
· Government organisations and authorities legally entitled to demand it and/or for prosecution in the event of attacks on our network infrastructure

Your personal data will not be provided to third parties for any other purpose.

Note regarding use of this website by children

We request that children do not provide personally identifiable information through this website.

Website security

S Swift Translation has security measures in place to protect your information. We are committed to the protection of your personal data from, in particular, loss, manipulation and unauthorised access. Security precautions are regularly reviewed and adapted to ensure they are in keeping with ongoing technological developments.

External links

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. Please note that we do not have any control over third-party websites you visit after leaving our website and cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information you provide whilst visiting such sites. We recommend that you exercise caution and consult the privacy statements applicable to the relevant websites.

Collection of information on your utilisation of the website

Information about your visit to our website gathered for statistical purposes, such as the site from which you call up the website (the “referrer”) also falls under the heading of personal data, although S Swift Translation cannot match this data to specific individuals and does not seek in any way to correlate it with data from other sources. As you use our website, this data is collected through the use of server log files and/or cookies.

Server log files

S Swift Translation (or its Internet hosting provider) collects data in server log files each time the website is called up. This access data includes the name of the requested web page or file, the date and time of access, the data volume transferred, notification of successful access, the user’s browser type and version, the user’s operating system, the referrer URL (the previously visited web page), the user’s IP address and the requesting provider.

The provider uses such log data only for statistical analysis for the purpose of operating, securing and optimising the website. However, the provider reserves the right to review the log data if concrete indications giving rise to reasonable suspicions of unlawful activity are observed.

A cookie is a small piece of data that a website asks your browser to store on your computer or mobile device. The cookie allows the website to “remember” your actions or preferences over time. S Swift Translation does not use cookies to learn about your personal user behaviour or to adapt website content to your personal browsing habits.

In compliance with the 2011 EU Cookie Directive, our website operates on an ‘Implied Consent’ basis. This means that we assume that you have ‘opted-in’ for our website to deploy cookies until you choose to deactivate them within your browser settings or via the instructions below. Upon your first visit to our website, you may have noticed a banner alerting you to our use of cookies.

S Swift Translation strives to ensure that website content remains accessible even if you have configured your browser to reject cookies. If you wish to modify your browser settings to reject cookies and block the execution of JavaScript programs, we recommend that you consult the information provided by your browser maker or contact your browser supplier or device manufacturer for further assistance.

In addition, you can delete already enabled cookies yourself at any time.

Further details on the cookies used on the website and on their respective purposes are provided below.

Cookie consent cookies

Upon your first visit to our website, you may notice a banner on the page alerting you to the fact that cookies are being placed onto your computer by our website. In order for our website to remember your choice of opting-in, we store a cookie which expires after a set number of days.

Social sharing (Google+, Twitter, Facebook, XING, LinkedIn)

We encourage users to share content from http://s‑ on social networks and to visit and/or ‘like’ Sarah Swift’s profiles and contributions on popular social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, XING, LinkedIn, Google+ and WordPress.) The website contains links to the various social media profiles of S Swift Translation and makes ‘social sharing’ accessible by utilising widgets provided directly by the social networks.

The operators of such external services are themselves responsible for compliance with statutory provisions concerning data protection on their sites. You may consult the privacy policies of the respective providers for further details. S Swift Translation does not receive information about the content of the data transmitted or its use by these third-party services. It is possible for data related to your visit to S Swift Translation (including your IP-address) to be sent directly to the servers of these providers (and outside of the EU) if you have created a profile or profiles with one or more of these providers and are logged in to the respective service(s) when you visit S Swift Translation; it is also possible that data will be transmitted even if you do not have a profile with the respective provider. If you interact with the widgets, the information you share is also sent directly to the server of the respective provider and stored there as well as being published on your account with the platform in question. You can prevent any of the providers mentioned above from mapping your visit to http://s‑ to your user account by logging out of your account with the relevant service before visiting the website.

Cookies and the integration of third-party content

This website may utilise third-party content, such as YouTube videos, Google Maps location information, or graphics drawn from other websites. Viewing this content necessarily entails the providers of such content obtaining knowledge of your IP address, as third-party providers would otherwise not be able to serve the content in question to your browser. We endeavour only to use content from providers who use the IP address solely for the purpose of delivering the content. We have no influence, however, on whether third-party providers store and make internal use of your IP address and/or store cookies in your web browser to track how you view their content across different sites.

Analytical tracking with Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies” to help the website operator to analyse how users browse the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.

Please note that on this website, Google Analytics code is supplemented by “anonymizeIp” to ensure the anonymised collection of IP addresses (so called IP-masking). Where IP anonymisation has been activated, Google will truncate/anonymise the last octet of the IP address for Member States of the European Union as well as for other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to and shortened by Google servers in the USA.

Google will, on behalf of the website operator, use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website providers and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website provider. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. You can also prevent Google’s collection and use of data (cookies and IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under

Finally, you can also refuse the use of Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set on your computer to prevent the future collection of your data when you visit this website:

Further information concerning the terms and conditions of use and data privacy can be found at or at

Blog comments, Gravatar avatars, and your privacy

If you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, for example in the form of blog comments, your data may be viewed, gathered, stored and used by other users, and you may receive unsolicited messages from third parties. If you post blog comments, your IP address(es) may be stored by S Swift Translation to safeguard the interests of the provider in the event of comments proving to be unlawful (political propaganda, etc.) or defamatory.

WordPress cookies for commenters

The website http://s‑ has been built using WordPress, which utilises cookies to allow visitors to register, login and comment on our website’s blog content. If you do not wish to participate in commenting on our website, WordPress will not deploy any cookies onto your device. Cookies will only be created and stored on your computer if you actively register or comment via the forms on our website. This is purely for convenience: it avoids visitors being required to retype their information again when they want to leave another comment in the future.
When users submit comments, WordPress sets the following cookies to store their names, e‑mail addresses and website addresses (if entered):
These cookies are set to expire just under one year after they have been set.

Gravatar avatars

S Swift Translation uses the external service Gravatar (owned by Automattic Inc.) to display pictures of users (“avatars”) alongside comments. The e-mail address left with the comment will be transmitted to Automattic in order to display the avatar connected with this e-mail address, if any. The e-mail address will be transmitted only as a hash code, which means that Automattic is not able to read your e-mail address, but can compare it with the e-mail addresses of its users. If there is a match, Automattic will transmit the respective avatar to the website http://s‑ and include it in the comments there. By displaying your avatar in a comment on our website, Automattic may save your IP address. We do not have any influence over the extent and the use of the data which Automattic collects. You will find more information on the purposes and the extent of data collection and the further processing and use of data by Automattic in the Privacy Policy of the service.

If you do not want Automattic to display your Gravatar on this website, please use an e‑mail address which is not associated with your Gravatar profile when leaving comments.

Your right to information

You have the right to information about your stored personal data at any time, including information on the origin and recipients of the data and the purpose for which the data is being stored. S Swift Translation will be pleased to answer any questions you may have regarding the processing of your personal data. If you have any questions that are not answered by this Privacy Policy, or if you would like more detailed information on any particular aspect, feel free to contact me at any point. If you would like to exercise your right to discover the information about you held by S Swift Translation, or to have your personal data corrected or deleted, please send a request in writing or by e‑mail. This data protection statement only applies to content provided directly by S Swift Translation. It does not apply to web pages to which links are placed on our website.

Acceptance, validity and updating of this privacy policy

By using our Web site, you implicitly agree to accept the use of your personal data as specified above. This Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time. Please revisit this page to stay aware of any changes. For your convenience, the last revised date of the current policy will be posted at the top of this page. Your continued use of this site after any change in this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such change.
